Patricia J. Glinski, age 72, died Monday, March 16, 2015 in Antigo under the care of her family, Rosalia Gardens, and LeRoyer Hospice, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Pat was born on February 24, 1943 in Milwaukee to the late Edwin and Gertrude (Anderson) Bandt.
She married William R. Glinski. The couple later divorced remaining friends.
Pat graduated from Wautoma High School class of 1961. She attended UW Stevens Point then went on to receive her bachelor degree in interior design from UW Madison. She also received her master’s degree from UW Madison. Pat then taught design at UW Stevens Point, North Dakota State University, Indiana State and Mount Mary College. She was also active as a commercial interior designer owning Glinski Planning and Interiors in Wausau. Pat was involved and a member of many interior design organizations.
Pat lived many years in Wautoma and was active in the community. There she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Waushara County Economic Development, and Rotary International serving also as their president. She was a master gardener, enjoyed Yoga, and taught religious education.
Pat was also a talented musician. As a flutist she played for the Wausau Symphony and also served as president of the symphony. She was a choir member at the churches she belonged to and was also a pianist.
In the years she resided in Wausau, Pat was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church.
Pat truly enjoyed her family and loved to play golf, read, garden, cook, and gather her family for meals.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Catherine “Cate” (Greg) Below of Antigo, and Elizabeth “Beth” (Chris) Portman of Antigo; 2 sons, Gregory Glinski of Antigo, and Mark Glinski of Lake Tomahawk; 7 grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle Glinski, Blake, Cody, and Danielle Below, and Billy and Max Portman; a sister, Susan Bandt of Wautoma; a brother, Robert (Donna) Bandt of Manitowoc.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Pastor Nate Gauerke officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00-11:00 Saturday at the church. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family. Friends may visit online at www.strasserrollerfh.com.
