Sunday, December 6th
9:30 PM A male subject reported at the Safety Building that his daughter was followed around an area business by two males that were making inappropriate comments.
8:01 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Langlade Road reporting that a white car was sitting at the end of his driveway for about 20 minutes. Officers talked to a male subject in vehicle. He stated that he was having car trouble. However, once questioned about it, the car started. The subject then left.
4:42 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Charlotte Ct. reporting a male in his late 40s wearing a bright red sweatshirt, khaki pants, with dirty blond hair and glasses at the apartment complex looking in the patio door. The female talked to the male subject. He said that he was a maintenance person, but the female caller said that maintenance people usually call or send a letter saying that someone will stop by. Officers were unable to locate the male with the red sweatshirt.
10:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue & Superior Street. The driver was issued a 5-day correction notice for expired registration.
10:27 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior & Freiburger streets. The driver was issued a 5-day correction notice for expired registration.
Saturday, December 5th
3:05 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that his son’s bicycle was stolen while at the public library. The library has the incident on tape. Officers will follow up.
12:05 PM Officers responded to a call of a stolen vehicle taken from an area business parking lot while the male owner was inside the store shopping for about 20 minutes. The owner had left his keys in the vehicle.
2:57 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at an area gas station. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated 1st offense.
Friday, December 4th
11:51 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Field Street. The male driver was issued a written warning for excessive speed.
1:45 PM Officers received a 911 call for a car fire in the east employee parking lot of Aspirus Langlade Hospital. The vehicle was later towed away at owner’s request.
2:14 AM Officers received a 911 call from a male subject stating that he was having an “out of body experience.” While trying to find out where the caller was located, the line went dead. Jail control then called to say that they had a male outside their doors and the subject appeared to be impaired. They called to have city officers respond. Dispatch observed on cameras that the male subject had collapsed. EMS was paged.
Thursday, December 3rd
5:44 PM Officers receive a call from a male city resident reporting that his wife was recently picked up for an event, and the driver noticed a male with a dark hoodie walking in their driveway. The male caller then saw the male run off into the pine trees near a neighboring business. The male caller then drove around the area, but did not see the male subject again. Caller asked officer for an extra patrol through his neighborhood.
2:48 AM Officers responded to a call of a stolen vehicle taken from the back of an area business at 4th Avenue and Edison Street. The vehicle was soon located at an address on 3rd Avenue. There was no damage to the vehicle and nothing was missing. A male at the residence was questioned about the vehicle, but he said that he did not know how the vehicle got there.
Wednesday, December 2nd
6:04 PM Officers received a report from an area gas station of a gas drive off a couple of days earlier. The suspect drove off without paying for $8.05 of gas and a candy bar. Officers will follow up.
11:36 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Beattie Avenue about a missing cell phone. The phone belongs to her son, and turned up missing in early August. She thinks she may know who took the phone. Officers made contact with the suspect, but the phone was not found in his possession.
Tuesday, December 1st
6:52 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The male driver was issued a 15-day correction warning for non-registration.
3:59 PM Officers received a call from an area trucking company reporting a problem with a private carrier hired to deliver a load to Lancaster, WI. The load was picked up in Terre Haute, IN and was supposed to be delivered at 8 a.m. When the driver was called about load, he was rude and gave excuses why delivery was not made. The load is worth several thousands of dollars. When the driver was called again, he demanded partial payment before deliver. DOT was contacted and they told the company to file a report with law enforcement. The company requested that an officer try to contact the driver and encourage him to make the delivery.
2:32 PM An employee from an area gas company came to the Safety Building to give a statement regarding the theft of gas from Lake Street, Aniwa. A statement was taken and faxed to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office.
1:33 AM Officers responded to a call from an employee of Langlade Hospital for a welfare check on a female on Willard Avenue. She left the hospital against medical advice, and has serious health issues. A vehicle was at the residence, but no fresh tracks. There was no answer at the door.
