Monday, March 14th
4:55 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The female driver was issued a citation for speed.
Sunday, March 13th
7:00 PM Officers responded to a report from a male subject that he just had two bowling balls, a bare of bowling shoes, a bowling bag & a black Nike hoodie stolen approximately 30 to 45 minutes before, from the bowling alley on Prosser Place. The male gave officers a description of the items. The bowling balls were valued at approximately $125 each. The male noticed that the items were missing when he returned from the bar area. There are no suspects.
9:20 AM A police department employee witnessed a female subject leaving the Safety Building and push her shoulder into a man, knocking him over in the front entrance. The male victim hit his head on the door post. An ambulance was refused. The female subject was chased across the street on 2nd Avenue and taken into custody. She was escorted to jail.
Saturday, March 12th
8:19 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that a dark SUV and a full size Chevy pickup were racing northbound on Superior Street at 3rd Avenue. The vehicles continued dodging through traffic and then pulled into a parking lot at the corner of Neva Road and Hwy. 64. Officers spoke to both drivers about their driving habits.
6:06 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was issued a citation for speed.
12:14 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 10th Avenue reporting that a male, approximately 40 to 50 years old was walking down 10th Avenue, just west of Watson Street and kept falling down. The male was now sitting on the side of the street. Officers took the male subject home.
2:51 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Deleglise Street. Female driver was issued a 10 day written correction notice for expired registration.
Friday, March 11th
11:20 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Langlade Road and Flight Road. Male driver had many children in the vehicle and not enough car seats. Driver called a female for assistance and for a car seat. After female arrived, she was arrested on a warrant from Marathon County.
7:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Superior Street. Female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense, operating after revocation and failure to install ignition interlock device.
4:31 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that while he was stopped at a stop light at Superior Street and 5th Avenue, he heard a ‘ping’ noise. When he later got out of his vehicle, he noticed that something struck the upper part of the driver’s side window, just below where it meets the door frame. It was a perfectly round mark in the glass, possibly a BB? The male wanted to report the information, in case it would happen again.
4:24 PM Officers received a call reporting that a truck hit a guide line behind the post office. The caller stated that the driver mailed a letter and then pulled out too sharp and hit the electrical box/guidewire.
4:14 PM A female living on Edison Street brought in a Next Freestyle boy’s yellow/orange 24 bike that she found in her yard that morning.
12:17 PM Officers received a call from a female subject from Bryant reporting that her vehicle was struck while parked the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 between 7:15 and 7:45 AM.
11:42 AM An area female living on Hwy. 45 came to the Safety Building to report fraudulent charges on her checking account in the amount of $388.00.
11:35 AM Officers responded to a report from a male employee of the Antigo Street department of syringes found on Kaplanek Ave. The employee put a traffic cone over them. Officers picked up the syringes lying by the curb. It appeared that they had been there awhile. They were placed in a container.
Thursday, March 10th
8:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Freiburger Avenue and Wilson Street. The male driver was issued a citation for operating without a license.
7:12 PM Officers responded to a report of two people ‘fornicating’ in the back seat of a vehicle in a parking lot on Clermont Street. Officers were unable to locate.
4:13 PM Officers received a call from a female subject from Merrill reporting that she thinks that she lost her wallet outside an area business on 5th Avenue. The wallet was black with a zipper. The wallet contained a $20 bill, credit cards, social security card and a driver’s license.
9:55 AM An off duty officer witnessed a female subject, that may have a suspended license, driving. The female was cited for operating while suspended.
7:23 AM Officers received a call from an area female reporting that her cat was gone from 5pm to 7:15 PM on 3/9/16. When it returned, it has some type of chemical all over it, that appeared to have been poured on the cat and it had been injured. The caller believed that this was done by a person, but she did not know who. The cat was now having a hard time walking and it was unknown if it would live. The caller wanted this on record, in case anyone else had a similar complaint.
Wednesday, March 9th
6:54 PM Officers responded to a report of a verbal altercation at an establishment on Clermont Street, and a second complaint of subjects jumping on cars. Officers were unable to locate anyone.
5:50 PM Officers responded to a burglar alarm at an area business on 6th Avenue. All is ok. Cleaning crew was inside.
5:15 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that she and her family were just outside in their driveway when a male subject in his mid-50’s, driving an older model tan van drove by really slow. The driver appeared to be staring at the female caller’s son’s girlfriend. The female caller asked the driver what he wanted, and he drove off. The van then circled the block and did the same thing again. Police advised the caller that a record would be made, and if they saw the vehicle again, to try and get a license plate number.
5:14 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that kids were playing on Remington Lake and the caller was concerned that they would fall in. The ice was still 10-12 inches deep and seemed to be safe. Officers advised the kids to be safe.
4:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
3:43 PM Officers received a second call from the business on Superior Street reporting that a female subject in a maroon car, just left a whole bunch of garbage in their garbage can. Officers were following up.
3:06 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that people are leaving multiple bags of garbage in their garbage can. There was mail and check stubs found in the garbage. Officers are attempting to locate the owner of the garbage.
2:24 PM Officers responded to a report of a syringe in the road on McMillan Avenue. The item was picked up and destroyed.
12:06 PM Officers responded to a report of a needle found in a parking lot on 5th Avenue. The items were collected and destroyed.
11:41 AM A citation was issued to an area female resident for theft of library materials $138.31.
11:35 AM A citation was issued to an area female resident for theft of library materials $95.49.
11:34 AM A citation was issued to an area female resident for theft of library materials $54.99.
11:33 AM A citation was issued to an area male resident for theft of library materials $41.97.
8:47 AM Officers received a call from an employee of an area business on Superior Street reporting that sometime after closing on 3/7/16, someone stole a banner from the south side wall of the building. It was a 9 foot banner with a value of $75.
Tuesday, March 8th
10:44 AM Officers responded to a report from a female with Probation & Parole that she was at an establishment on 6th Avenue and smelled marijuana. Officers took a subject into custody on a probation hold.
Monday, March 7th
9:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Fulton Street reporting that a vehicle was blocking the end of his driveway. Officers issued 2 parking citations.
9:02 PM Officers received a call from a male on Hudson Street reporting that he borrowed a truck with a toolbox worth $1,600 and containing $1,000 worth of items to a friend in Wausau. He is now having trouble getting it back. Officers will be looking into this for possible theft charges.
4:09 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Charlotte Street reporting that cars were speeding on the street going up to about 60 mph. The speed limit on the street is 25 mph. There are children in the area and the caller was afraid that someone was going to get hurt. The caller told the officer that some of the vehicles are from an area business moving vehicles. Officers spoke with personnel from the business and advised them of the complaint. They said that they will speak with their service department, and make sure that they slow down.
12:22 PM Officers responded to a call from a business on Neva Road reporting that a female driver just drove into one of the pillars of the building. There were no injuries. A voluntary accident report was filed.
