Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 5/9/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, April 25th
12:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she was just involved in an accident at Century Avenue and Neva Road. Both vehicles pulled into the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. There were no injuries.
Tuesday, April 26th
6:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she could hear dogs whining in the area of 5th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The caller stated that she can normally hear the dogs barking, but today it sounded like they were whining as if they were hurt. An officer sat in the area, but did not hear any whining.
6:22 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting a man with a child riding a moped. The child had no helmet. The male subject was going west on North Avenue. Officers were unable to locate.
10:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a female employee of an area business on Forrest Avenue reporting that a male subject with a camo hat was looking in the windows as he was walking around the building. The subject appeared to be carrying a bag. The employee had all the doors locked. The male subject then left in a white car going east on Forrest Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle at 10th Avenue and Virginia Street. The male subject stated that he had parked at the area business and walked to a friend’s house nearby. He stated that he did look in the building and wasn’t looking for anything in particular. Officers told the male subject to park somewhere else.
Wednesday, April 27th
2:06 AM Officers attempted a traffic stop at 3rd Avenue and Edison Street. The vehicle stopped at Lincoln Street and 3rd Avenue. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, operating after suspension, no insurance and expired registration.
7:51 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Sunset Drive and 8th Avenue. The female driver was issued a citation for speed.
8:32 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The male driver was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt and warned for speed.
5:52 PM Officers received a report of a syringe lying by a tree on the southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Elm Street.
6:57 PM Officers discovered an open door at an area business on Hwy. 45. Officers made contact with the key holder.
Thursday, April 28th
12:02 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. The female driver was cited for operating while suspended, suspended registration and no proof of insurance.
4:43 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Mary Street. The male driver was given a written warning for speed.
7:39 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The male driver was issued a citation for speed and a warning for failure to wear seatbelt.
Friday, April 29th
1:40 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Watson Street. The male driver was arrested for operating after revocation.
7:49 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The female driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
12:31 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she received a card in the mail asking her to call a number and receive a $100 Walmart or Target card. She called the number and they told her that she needed to pay $3.99 to get the card. It was a scam.
12:43 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting an accident in a parking lot on Forrest Avenue. Property damage only. An accident report was filed.
7:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting shattered glass and carts knocked over at an area business on 5th Avenue. Officers talked with some people at a business nearby. They said that it happened at approximately 7:00 PM. They did not see who did it, but said that there were kids there earlier. The front window was broken. The west door was also pushed open so hard that the latch was broken. Two ceiling tiles were also opened, possibly looking for a camera. There were shoe prints on a table. There are no suspects.
Saturday, April 30th
12:03 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The male driver was issued a citation for speed and no proof of insurance.
12:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The female driver was cited for speed.
4:05 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that a black GMC Terrain was northbound on Hwy. 45 and crossed the centerline and fogline. There appeared to be a small child in the back seat. The vehicle continued northbound on Hwy. 45. Officers stopped the vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Sunday, May 1st
1:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The male driver was given a written warning for failure to dim headlights.
1:18 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Edison Street. The male driver was cited for operating without insurance and given a 10-day warning for expired registration.
6:24 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Dorr Street and Hickory Street. The female driver was arrested for operating after revocation. A Department of Correction hold was also placed on the female and she was transported to jail.
12:51 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Hogan Street. The female driver was given a written warning for speed.
1:32 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a two vehicle accident in their parking lot. Property damage only. An accident report was filed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, April 27th
5:17 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that someone had gotten into the lockbox and gotten the key for an establishment on Dorr Street in Elcho. They entered the building and turned up the boiler for the floor heat. It was up to 100 degrees. It happened the last two nights. The male caller stated that the subject would have to know the code to get into the lockbox. Now the original key is gone, and a different key that doesn’t fit the building is in its place. A heating company came, and they said that changes were made to the boiler. Nothing was stolen. Officers told the male caller to get the locks changed and to change the code to the lock box. The caller requested an extra patrol.
Thursday, April 28th
6:41 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was traveling west on Hwy. 64 when a blue van was coming at him head on. He swerved to avoid it and the van side swiped his car. The female driver of the van was given a citation for no insurance and inattentive driving. The male caller was given a 10 day notice to get his license reinstated.
12:49 PM Officers responded to a call from Crestwood Elementary school on County Road AA, reporting that students found a box of needles in a ditch by the school. One of the students got poked by a needle. They brought the student to Langlade Hospital. Officers collected the needles.
Friday, April 29th
12:37 PM Officers received a call from a female subject on Post Lake Road, Elcho reporting that approximately 10 minutes prior to calling she witnessed three grey coyotes or wolves (they were larger than her Labradors) take one of her chickens. She was concerned because she had a foal outside. The caller stated that one of the animals got 20 feet from her and just stared her down.
Saturday, May 1st
2:30 AM Officers made a traffic stop at Memory Lane and Neva Road. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
12:29 PM Officers responded to call reporting that a male subject, approximately 28 years old was involved in an ATV accident on State Rd. 52. The male subject was conscious, had rib pain and a laceration to the forehead. An ambulance responded and the subject was transported to Langlade Hospital. The male was then transported to Aspirus Wausau hospital with a brain bleed, a broken collar bone and a large facial laceration. The male subject was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol was involved.
5:51 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she found a syringe on County Road BB. Officers picked up the syringe.
Tuesday, May 3rd
5:14 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Fiedler Lane, Deerbrook reporting that he just returned home and found a note on his door saying “return my minnow trap or else I will make your life hell, you have my name tag.” The caller has no idea what this was about or who left the note. There are no suspects, but a black truck was possibly in the area.
