Clean Sweep August 20th 8-11am Langlade County Highway Shop, 1521 Arctic St., Antigo. A hazardous waste clean sweep & medication disposal. The household and agricultural clean sweep & the medication disposal are free. Agricultural producers are also required to pre-register by calling 715-627-6292 & giving the volume & name of the chemicals that will be brought in. If you only have household hazardous waste or medications (including veterinarian medications) to dispose of, pre-registration is not required. A medication drop box is also available 24/7 in the lobby of the Langlade County Safety Building. Keep medication in their original container with your personal information blocked out. Do not block out the name of the medication. Non-agricultural small business disposal is available for a fee & these small businesses need to pre-register by calling 715-627-6292. Latex paints, motor oil or electronic waste will not be accepted. Fluorescent bulbs & lithium batteries will be accepted for a small fee. As always, do not mix materials together. Leave the chemicals in their original containers. If the container is damaged, place the container & its contents into a cardboard box lined with a plastic bag. 4th Annual Run to Remember August 20th 8am Nicolet College, College Dr., Rhinelander. It is a run to raise money for scholarships in honor of Kory Dahlvig, a Nicolet graduate & former Vilas County sheriff’s deputy who lost his life in an on-duty traffic accident. The 5K & 10K will start on the Nicolet College campus. Check-in begins at 8am, the 10K Run starts at 9am, the 5K Run/Walk starts at 9:15 am, and the Children’s Run starts at 10:30 am.
