Saturday morning, local bikers and community members are invited to converge on DAT Bar for the 1st Annual “Rosco’s Ride.”
Local biker Rosco, a member of the temporary Northwoods Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A®), has organized a 135 mile ride to benefit and raise awareness for the B.A.C.A Northwoods Chapter, as well as acquiring vests and jackets for the young heroes that the B.A.C.A organization assists on a routine basis.
As Rosco explains, anyone is welcome to join the ride whether a biker or motorist.
“All makes, models and cars are welcome to ride with us and support our cause. We are expecting a couple dozen for sure but we are hoping for more. It’s one of the last good weekends to ride and we are incorporating some beautiful scenic lake side roads in the ride route,” Rosco said.
The ride is set for a 10 am registration at DAT Bar on Merrill’s west side this Saturday morning.
At 11 am, it will be “Kick Stands Up” in biker lingo and participants will head east to Bill’s Bar in Pine River.
Riders will then continue east to Ricks 45 Roadhouse in Antigo and head north to Jekyll & Hydes in Pickerel and Harrison Oasis and Rodeo Bar in Tomahawk before returning to DAT Bar on Saturday afternoon.
Cost is $20 per rider and $15 per backseat.
Upon paying entry fee, participants are given an entry into the 50/50 dice run. Donation of a child’s vest, jacket or a teddy bear will be valid for a bonus entry into the 50/50 dice run.
Those interested in participating in Rosco’s Ride are welcome to arrive at DAT Bar, 1404 W. Main Street at 10 am Saturday morning.
