Robert Glenn Gipp, 84

Robert G. Gipp, 84, Wittenberg, died on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home under the care of his family and Ministry Hospice.
He was born on February 21, 1932 in Suring, WI, the son of the late Adolph and Helen (Schroeder) Gipp.
On August 25, 1951, Robert was united in marriage to Phyllis Raddant at St. James Lutheran Church, Shawano. She survives.
Robert was a supervisor at Outboard Marine Corporation, Milwaukee for many years until his retirement in 1983. The couple then moved to Shawano Lake for five years until building a house on their land in the town of Birnamwood where they currently reside. Robert formerly served on the Birnamwood town board, the Homme Home of Wittenberg board of directors and was instrumental in forming the annual Homme Golf Outing. He was very active, and held many leadership roles in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, the Lutheran Church Extension Fund and Concordia University, Mequon. Robert was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed making wood, hunting, fishing and operated a maple syrup business, tapping thousands of trees.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis; three children, Glenn Gipp, Milwaukee, Cynthia (Paul) Lawonn, Brookfield and Kathryn (Gregory) Jasinski, New Berlin; grandchildren, Daniel (Camille) Lawonn, Laura Lawonn, Dr. Andrew (Katie) Jasinski and Samantha Jasinski and great-grandchildren, Anne and Lillian Jasinski and Selby and Margo Lawonn.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Elder, Lorraine Shultz and Norman.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Eland. Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4PM to 8PM at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg and again on Friday from 9AM until the time of service at the church. Memorials to Zion Lutheran Church, Eland and Concordia University, Mequon would be appreciated.
