Chester E. Carrigan, 79
Chester E. Carrigan, of Antigo, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his home. He was 79 years old. He was born on October 8, 1937 in Curvuso, Minn. a son of the late Vernon and Ethel (Fisher) Carrigan. He married Denise Callahan on June 6, 1959 at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. She survives.
He was a class of 1955 graduate of Litchfield High School in Litchfield, Minn.
Mr. Carrigan served 20 years in the United States Air Force. He enlisted in 1955 and retired in 1975. He was stationed in Korea, Germany and Vietnam.
He moved to Antigo in 1974 and worked for Quinlan’s Equipment as parts manager for 4 years. In 1979 he began a career with the city of Antigo working as street commissioner, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the Monsignor Conrad Saile Council 1002 Knights of Columbus and the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 662, Antigo.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling and playing cards.
Survivors, including his wife, are a daughter, Catherine Kincaid of Eau Claire; two sons, Patrick Carrigan of West Bend and Michael (Kristi) Carrigan of St. Cloud, Minn; a brother, Gordon (Cindy) Carrigan of Crystal, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Alexandra Brandriet, Brittney and Justin Carrigan, Taylor and Makenzie Kincaid, Jamie and Haley Carrigan; and two great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Brantley.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death a daughter, Linda Marie Carrigan; a sister, Donna Carrigan; and a brother, James Carrigan.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church in Hoffmann Hall.
Antigo Veterans will conduct military honors at the church following the services.
