A warrant arrest was made this past Monday near the corner of 5th Ave and Edison Street after both the Antigo Police Department and Antigo Fire Department arrived on the scene.
A man arrived at the Langlade County Safety Building shortly after 5:30 PM on April 10, reporting that there was a fire at the apartment of 836 1/2 5th Ave. The man reported that there were people still inside and that officers should check it out, though the man appeared to be on something and left the Safety Building immediately.
With no apparent smoke or fire visible outside the buildings, the police and fire units responded. After attempting to question a suspect outside the building, the young man appeared to be staggering about while talking to an APD officer. The suspect, Andrew Gehr (1/22/91), was later arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant.
Gehr was recently charged with felony bail jumping and drug paraphernalia in Marquette County, Wisc.
Three APD officers and an AFD firefighter later left the scene after a final sweep of the area. No other arrests were apparently made.
