Dennis H. “Denny” Meyer, age 72, Deerbrook died Tuesday, July 25 2017 at his home. Denny was born on January 4, 1945 in Antigo to the late Harold E. and Irene (Boelter) Meyer.
On August 29, 1964 he was united in marriage to Judy Omernik at St. Wencel’s Catholic Church in Neva.
Denny was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1963.
After their marriage, the couple resided in Neenah for 10 years, at which time Denny worked for Eggars Hardware. Judy and Denny returned to Antigo, with Denny working for Jerome Filbrandt Plumbing and Heating, Wagner Oil, and most recently J. W. Mattek & Sons Farms.
Denny enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and 4-wheeling. He treasured family time and cookouts. He was known for his delicious barbequed chicken. His greatest love was for his great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Judy, survivors include 2 daughters, Brenda Meyer and special friend Dave of Birnamwood and Annette Rivard(special friend Richard) of Tomahawk, 6 grandchildren Brandyn (Becky) Dehart, Krysten DeHart, Bryon (Mollie) DeHart, Tasha (Chris) Kubichek, Kory (Halee) Fleischman, Jessica Fleischman, 6 great grandchildren Breana, Maddisyn, Adrian, Dennis, Hunter, Miranda, 2 sisters Barbara Beckingham of Antigo and Charlotte Starr of Neenah, a brother Jerry (Judy) Meyer of Appleton, a sister-in-law Teri Meyer of Pinedale, WY, and a brother-in-law Jerry (Lee) Omernik of Seattle, WA.
In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by 2 brothers Randy and Kenny Meyer, mother-in-law Marie Omernik, father-in-law Felix Omernik, brothers-in-law Jim Omernik, Don Starr, Mike Beckingham, and a sister-in-law Barb Dean.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Jerome Hahn will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the service.
