John “Jack” George Bonnell, of Antigo, died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Homme Home in Wittenberg. He was 90 years old. He was born on August 4, 1927 in Antigo, a son of the late William and Annetta (Hafner) Bonnell.
Mr. Bonnell worked as a shoe cutter and part time foreman for Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Antigo and Merrill for 43 years, retiring in April of 1989.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church.
He enjoyed gardening and watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Survivors include a sister, Anita Brandt of Tigerton; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Donald (Rosanna); a sister, Ellen (Andrew) Vogelsang; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Brandt.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann, Rev. Timothy Brandt and Deacon Mike Brandt officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Antigo. Visitation will be Friday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
