Haunted Sawmill: Vincent Resurrected October 13th & 14th 6-11pm The Haunted Sawmill, 700 Hendricks St., Merrill. Do you dare come and awake Vincent? After being away, Vincent has found his way back to the Haunted Sawmill. As always, the Haunted Sawmill is a fundraiser to help Boy Scouts in Merrill and the surrounding communities. As part of the event, the Scouts collect food donations from guests in exchange for reduced ticket prices. The Scouts have raised over 10,000 food items to donate to local food pantries since 2011. 10th Annual ATV/UTV Charity Ride for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin October 14th 7:30am North Star Lanes, 400 Prosser Place, Antigo. Sign up on Friday, October 13, 2017, from 5-7 pm or Saturday morning from 7:30 – 8:45 am at North Star Lanes; 8:45 am Saturday- Rider’s meeting & group picture; 5pm Saturday- Evening events begin. Help make a child’s wish come true. Riders will have an option, either to ride on their own for the day or the Antigo Area ATV/UTV club will have members available as leaders for riders that are not familiar with the area. The ride is $25 per person or $50 per family (or pledges), which includes dinner. The menu will include ham, turkey, potatoes & all the other essentials. Besides dinner, Saturday evening events include silent auctions, the Star Quilt raffle, 3 tables of raffles & Expressions Dance Studio performance. The public is also welcome at 6pm at North Star Lanes for the evening events. All donations benefit Make-A-Wish Wisconsin whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Three Eagles Half Marathon & 5K October 14th 10am Three Eagle Trail, Three Lakes. From 9am to 9:30am, one-way bus shuttles will depart from the Reiter Center, 1858 S Michigan Street, Three Lakes and take runners to the race start. There will be an additional late bus at 9:40am for 5K participants only. This is a chip-timed, point-to-point race. There will be mile markers at every mile & portable toilets & aid stations available along the route. Funds raised will benefit the Three Eagle Trail & the Three Lakes running program. Benefit & Celebration of Life for Rod (Fly Rod) Fleischman October 14th Noon-6pm Celebrations, N2497 Hwy. 45 S, Antigo. Rod is a lifelong Antigo resident. He has been diagnosed with a very rare neurodegenerative brain disorder called PSP (Progressive Supra-Nuclear Palsy) as well as severe cervical spinal stenosis. Rod’s condition has rapidly progressed since January 2017. He has lost the ability to speak, work or swallow. He has lost over 70 lbs. He is currently at a nursing home for rehab. With prayers, he can gain strength in his arms & legs & walk again so he can return home. There he will require extensive home care needs & changes. The family has been struggling financially due to his ongoing illness and medical needs. There is no cure or treatment for Rod. The event will include food, raffles & prize drawings.
