The Antigo wrestling team finished their conference dual meet schedule by defeating Mosinee 54-24. It was senior night. Frank Kneeland, Billy Hull, and Brandon Lucht were recognized for their achievements. Managers, Mariah Payne and Annette Olsen were also recognized for their contributions during their time with the team. Pins were earned by Logan Edwards, Ben Stimac, Dylan Dykstra, Billy Hull, Korbin Krueger, and Collinn Eldridge.
“We looked really strong tonight. Our wrestlers are peaking at the right time of year. Dylan Dykstra is turning into a great surprise this year. He didn’t earn a varsity spot until Ben dropped to 126. Since then, Dylan has looked fantastic. It’s nice to see a sophomore have this kind of success. Korbin Krueger had the best match of the night. He avenged a loss to his opponent. He lost to him at an earlier tournament this year. Korbin looked great pinning him in the second period,” Coach Ben Olsen said.
Antigo’s next meet is the GNC tournament on February 3 at Lakeland High School.
