Three Middle School Bowlers will compete in State Tournament
Three Antigo Middle School Bowlers will bowl in the Middle School State Tournament on Saturday, May 5 at Ashwaubenon Lanes. The bowlers qualified based on their singles’ standings for the season. For the girls, Katie Kirsch was 8th and Makala Beck was 11th. For the boys, Jack Steger was 7th. The singles event will begin at 9:15am.
The Antigo/Bowler boys team just missed competing at State. The team fell 2 pins short after 14 baker games bowled in the Conference Finals earlier this season. They had a score of 2045 for a 146 average. Team members include Jack Steger, Carson Kunze, Josh Koutnik, Alec Knapkavage, Brayden Vielbaum and Brady Rickert. They are coached by Tom Kubeny.
The Antigo girls team also fell short by only 11 pins. They had a score of 1813 for a 130 average. Team members include Katie Kirsch, Makala Beck, Mya Patterson, Annabelle Kapellan, Madison Beilke and Marnie Kubacki. Coaches are Rick Fermanich and TJ Beck.
