For the Antigo Times
The Lady Robins traveled to Minocqua to take on the Lakeland Thunderbirds Tuesday night.
Lakeland was able to come away with their first goal at the 2-minute mark. Antigo kicked it up a notch and played an excellent game. Midfield moved the ball well, allowing junior Hannah Nonnenmacher a shot on goal. The defensive line was able to pull Lakeland offside early, and that saved a couple breakaways.
Lakeland made their second goal at the 18-minute mark and then again at 21 minutes. Antigo once again had the opportunity to score. Sophomore Jami Nonnenmacher had two shots, only to be denied. Lakeland made one more score before the half, bringing the score to 4-0.
Going into the half, Antigo really did a great job defensively and moved the ball well, allowing a couple more shots to be taken. But with some PK shots that were taken, along with good shots being taken, Lakeland took the 8-0 win. Antigo plays again on Thursday at Listle Field.
