Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 7/16/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, July 2nd
8:51 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Dorr Street reporting that sometime within the last week, someone had stolen an adult tricycle from her unlocked garage. Officers noticed that her other bikes had been knocked down in the garage. The total value of the tricycle was $580. It was described as a Schwinn Pacific, white in color.
Tuesday, July 3rd
9:04 AM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting that a maroon Pontiac Bonneville was northbound on Neva Road and the male driver was leaning towards the passenger seat and was using both lanes. The caller told officers that the vehicle had also edged out ¼ of the way into the intersection at a red light at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The vehicle then turned westbound onto Century Avenue. The caller gave officer’s the license plate number. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
12:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Vehicle 2 was backing southbound from a parking spot in the lot. Vehicle 1 was also backing, northbound from a parking spot. The male driver of Vehicle 1 told officers that he didn’t see Vehicle 2 and the vehicle’s sensor didn’t sound. Vehicle 1 struck Vehicle 2 in the driver’s rear fender causing damage. Vehicle 1 sustained damage to the passenger rear bumper/fender. There were no injuries.
3:20 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they were holding a juvenile male subject for shoplifting. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
4:29 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at an area business on Hwy. 64. Property damage only.
Thursday, July 5th
5:42 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting a gas drive off of $29.99. The suspect vehicle was described as a U-Haul truck. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
10:24 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a male subject was lying down in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The caller told officers that the male had a ripped shirt, so they were concerned that the subject may have been beaten up. The male subject was extremely intoxicated. Officers transported the male subject to a residence on 6th Avenue. Officers requested that EMS come to the residence to check on the subject.
Friday, July 6th
3:45 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he hit another vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on 5th Avenue. The caller had backed into the other vehicle.
5:09 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an accident in front of a residence on Graham Avenue, between her vehicle and another vehicle.
7:46 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street requesting to speak to an officer about a drug complaint. The caller stated to officers that a female subject had come into the business, held up a small zip lock bag and said, “I’m throwing away my meth bag.” The caller told officers that the female subject seemed out of it and she had children with her. The caller opened the garbage can and officers located the zip lock bag containing meth residue. Officers talked with the female subject, who claimed that she had found the bag in the parking lot. She was very upset that officers were questioning her. Officers did not have enough evidence to charge her. The bag was destroyed.
11:18 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and operating with a restricted controlled substance.
Saturday, July 7th
12:42 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at E. 5th Avenue and Langlade Road. The female driver was given a written warning for no proof of insurance and driver’s vision obstruction. She was also cited for having no brake light and possession of drug paraphernalia, after the canine officer was alerted. A female passenger admitted to having a bunch of beer in her backpack. She was cited for underage possession of alcohol. The alcohol was taken and destroyed. The subjects then parked the vehicle and continued on foot.
5:17 PM Officers received a call from a male yelling and barely coherent saying “318 something.” He then yelled he was “going to shoot him.” When asked where he was, he yelled, “You know who I am” and hung up. Officers called the number back and found out that two male subjects were fighting at a residence on Field Street. One male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was transported to Corrections.
5:51 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting a shoplifter. The male subject was described as bald, wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts. He left walking towards Clermont Street. Officers arrested the male subject for retail theft and a Shawano County Sheriff’s Office warrant.
8:03 PM Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter at an area business on Hwy. 64. The female subject was cited for retail theft.
11:06 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. Officers discovered that the incorrect license plate was on the vehicle. The male driver was arrested for operating without a license, 2nd offense. He was also given a written warning for speed and displaying false registration. The subject was taken into custody because he had just received a citation for operating without a license in Waupaca County the night before.
Sunday, July 8th
12:41 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a shoplifter that took off on foot. The female subject was described as wearing a yellow shirt, black shorts with white shoes. She took off on foot. The female had attempted to use a receipt from a different store location to leave with $295.39 worth of items from the store. There was no loss to the business as everything was left inside the store when the subject exited on foot. The female subject was cited for retail theft.
12:53 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a shotgun was found lying in the parking lot. There was no ammo in the gun. Officers noticed a few dings in the stock, like it had fallen out of a vehicle. The item was placed into evidence.
1:33 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business reporting that they were about to stop a male subject for shoplifting and they believed that the subject would take off. The subject was described as wearing an orange sweatshirt with a green t-shirt, tan cargo shorts and flip flops. He had a black and white backpack. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Tuesday, July 3rd
11:44 AM Officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a silver Buick that was all over the road on Hwy. 45, going southbound. The vehicle was stopped on Hwy. 45. The female driver was transported to Langlade Hospital for low blood sugar.
Wednesday, July 4th
12:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 52. The caller told officers that a female subject had an injury to her arm and may not be able to exit the vehicle. The other occupants were out of the vehicles and walking around. One vehicle was towed. The male driver of one of the vehicles was cited for failure to yield.
9:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 55 and Gardner Dam Road. The female driver was warned for her speed. A male passenger was arrested on a probation hold and for violation of a restraining order, between him and the female driver, effective until May 2019.
Thursday, July 5th
4:12 AM Officers were out at a cemetery on Forrest Avenue. Officers had observed two juvenile female subjects next to a picnic table with numerous bottles of alcohol on it. When questioned, the females told officers that several other individuals had run off as officers arrived. A third juvenile female subject was located, lying face down, between a fence and the dugout. Two of the females were cited with obstruction and underage possession of alcohol/underage drinking. The third female was cited for underage possession of alcohol. One female was turned over to her parents at the scene. The other two females were transported home.
Friday, July 6th
12:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 45. One male subject was arrested for operating after revocation, operating while intoxicated related and two counts of bail jumping. A second male subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor bail jumping and he was listed as wanted in Oneida County. A third male subject was arrested on a probation hold. All three subjects were transported to Corrections.
3:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two vehicle accident at Polar Road and Hwy. 64. The caller told officers that one female subject hurt her head, but refused an ambulance. No wreckers were needed and both vehicles were off the roadway.
Saturday, July 7th
3:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Riordon Street and Elk Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. He was also cited for failure to obey a stop sign and was given a 10 day correction notice for an expired registration.
6:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 52. The vehicle was stopped for numerous people riding in the bed of the truck. The male driver exited the vehicle and was very unsteady on his feet. He had an odor of intoxicants on his breath and was slurring his speech. Standardized field sobriety tests were performed. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense.
9:09 PM Officers attempted a traffic stop on Hwy. 64. The vehicle was speeding and did not stop, passing in no passing zone and also in oncoming traffic. The vehicle continued westbound on Hwy. 64. Officers terminated the pursuit. The vehicle was later located at a residence on Hwy. 64. The male driver was arrested on a Department of Corrections felony warrant and he was charged with speeding, fleeing, passing in a no passing zone, passing into oncoming traffic and felony bail jumping. The vehicle was impounded and searched. Multiple items were located in the vehicle possibly involved in identity theft.
Sunday, July 8th
12:07 AM Officers attempted a traffic stop as vehicle was westbound on Cty. Rd. K, south of Clear Lake Road. The vehicle was finally stopped on Channel Drive. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense, felony fleeing, possession of marijuana and operating after revocation, operating while intoxicated related.
3:09 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he had witnessed an accident at Hwy. 64 and Townline Road. The vehicle was towed. The town chairman was notified about two road signs that had been knocked down in the accident.
4:19 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a rollover accident in front of a residence on Hwy. 64. The vehicle was a 1999 silver Chevy Suburban towing a 22 foot trailer. The vehicle was towed.
Monday, July 9th
10:55 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Cty. Rd. C, reporting that someone had broken into the business. Some of their gambling machines and been broken into and some candy bars were stolen. The caller was unsure at the time of the call, if anything else had been taken. Officers were investigating.
