Cheryl Young, 64
Cheryl Young, of Peyton, Colorado died after a prolonged illness on Friday, August 24, 2018, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital in Antigo, Wisconsin. She was 64 years old. She was born on February 28, 1954, in Laona, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Byron and Mae Jane (Dolsen) Fenn.
Cheryl moved with her family to Livermore, California in 1963 and graduated from Grenada High School in 1972 where she first met the love of her life, Jack. She received her Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of California – Berkeley.
She was a principal engineer for the Oracle Corporation for 23 years, starting in California and later transferred to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1996 to raise her son and continue her career. She married Jack Young on January 1st, 2002 after reconnecting online in 2000.
Cheryl loved fishing, camping, cooking, collecting Native American artwork and photography. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends and capturing life’s precious moments with her camera. She enriched the lives of those around her and was extremely passionate about helping others no matter the personal cost.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Jack Young; a son, Rocky (Ashley) Blasius of Colorado Springs, CO; four sisters, Ginger Santillanes, Charlotte (Paul) Richarz, Linda (John) Ruys and Sue (Gary) Scott; three stepsons, Mike Young, Brian Stark and Brad Stark and numerous step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Deborah Fenn.
A graveside service will be held at the Forest Home Cemetery in Townsend, WI on Friday, August 31st, at 10:00 AM.
