Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 12/31/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, December 17th
12:52 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that a male subject with an outstanding warrant was in the business. Officers arrested the 35 year old male subject on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear – misdemeanor bail jumping, operating after revocation, failure to install an ignition interlock device and a Marathon County Sheriff’s office warrant.
Tuesday, December 18th
2:54 PM Officers cited a 34 year old female subject for contributing to truancy for letting her daughter miss all or part of 53 days of school this year.
3:01 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that a female subject stole some liquor from the store and left in a white Pontiac 10-15 minutes earlier. The caller told officers that they had a good photo of the suspect on their security camera. They also gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. The registered owner of the vehicle was a male subject from Keshena. A teletype was sent to the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office and the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office to attempt to locate the vehicle.
Wednesday, December 19th
7:55 AM Officers responded to a call from Probation and Parole requesting pickup of a 60 year old male subject on a Department of Corrections warrant. The male subject was arrested and transported to Corrections.
2:14 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he had just side-swiped a vehicle at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Edison Street. The male caller was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign. The female driver of the other vehicle was cited for having no insurance.
3:23 PM Officers responded to a call from Probation and Parole reporting that a 37 year old female subject was in their office with an outstanding Shawano County Sheriff’s Office warrant. The female subject was arrested.
Friday, December 21st
7:22 AM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in front of an area business on 5th Avenue. Property damage only.
8:26 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a highly intoxicated male subject was in the business. They were unsure how he had arrived there. The 23 year old male subject was picked up by a friend. Officers found out that he had originally arrived at the business with a different friend, who left prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
9:45 PM Officers were out with a 40 year old male subject at an area business on Superior Street. The male subject was arrested on a Shawano County Sheriff’s Office warrant and a Forest County Sheriff’s Office warrant. He was transported to Corrections.
Saturday, December 22nd
2:38 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on 7th Avenue. The 26 year old male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense. He was transported to Langlade Hospital and then to Corrections. He was also cited for operating left of center, driving at an unreasonable and imprudent speed and having a defective exhaust.
9:36 PM Officer stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Ackley Street. The 19 year old female driver was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to pay a fine for failure to keep her vehicle under control.
Sunday, December 23rd
1:49 AM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The 35 year old female driver as arrested for operating while intoxicated and was transported to Corrections. She was also cited for operating without a license and non-registration of a vehicle.
12:36 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Lincoln Street and 7th Avenue. Property damage only.
Monday, December 24th
12:11 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 8th Avenue. The 34 year old male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense and bail jumping. He was also cited for failure to fasten his seatbelt.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Saturday, December 22nd
8:46 PM Officers were at an area business on Hwy. 45 in Elcho with an injured 61 year old male subject who had been shoved, fell, lost consciousness briefly and was bleeding from the eye. Upon arrival, officers observed the male subject lying outside the front door of the business being assisted by an employee of the business. The male stated to officers that he had been knocked down. He told them that he had been talking/arguing with a named 28 year old male subject, when his 26 year old named male associate knocked him down. The business employee told officers that the two male subjects took off. A teletype was sent to the Oneida County Sheriff’s office requesting them to attempt to locate the vehicle which may have been involved. The Oneida County Sheriff’s office advised officers that they were unable to locate the vehicle. The male subject was transported to the hospital in Rhinelander. Officers were investigating.
Sunday, December 23rd
1:02 PM Officers responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover accident on Cty. Rd. M, west of Hwy. 55.
6:16 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a car versus tree accident at an address on Hwy. 45. There were no injuries and the driver was out of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed.
Monday, December 24th
12:16 AM Officers responded to an anonymous report that a 32 year old female subject, with an outstanding warrant, was at an address on Hwy. 47, was possibly high and was in and out of consciousness. When officers arrived another female subject let them in. The reported female subject was found lying on the floor, next to her mattress upon officer’s arrival. The female did wake up, but claimed not to remember being on the floor or how she got burrs all over her clothing. Both she and the female subject that answered the door were uncooperative. The 23 year old female subject that answered the door was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant. The 32 year old female subject was taken to Langlade Hospital, medically cleared, and then transported to Corrections on her Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant.
11:17 AM Officers reported that it appeared that a vehicle left the roadway and hit a power pole on Cty. Rd. F, east of Cty. Rd. AA. There was no vehicle at the scene. Wisconsin Public Service was notified. Officers determined that an orange vehicle had been traveling eastbound on Cty. Rd. F, left the roadway, struck the pole and then continued east. The vehicle would have extensive damage to the front passenger side. Glass and plastic pieces were scattered in the ditch and the passenger side mirror was left behind. Officers thought the vehicle may have been a Dodge Journey.
6:30 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female reporting that her 74 year old grandmother had driven her car into the river at the intersection of Ackley Road and Spring Road. The caller said that the female was still in the vehicle, the river was shallow, about knee deep and only a small amount of water had gotten into the vehicle so far. The vehicle was towed.
7:13 PM Officers responded to a 911 caller who was traveling north on Hwy. 45 by Knight Road, when they noticed a bright red ball coming out of the sky traveling toward the ground. When it hit the ground, there was a huge flash of light. Officers contacted the FAA who said that no planes were reported missing. The Ursid meteor shower was occurring during this time. Officers did not know the direction or distance that the object was from the reporting person. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.
Tuesday, December 25th
7:29 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a one vehicle rollover accident near her residence on Hwy. 45 in the west ditch. She told officers that there was one male subject inside with head trauma who was unconscious. The 59 year old male driver was transported to the Wausau hospital by helicopter. The accident appeared to officers to have been some type of medical episode. The male subject’s wife was notified. She confirmed that he had multiple medical issues. Officers located marijuana at the crash scene. It appeared to officers to have come from a marijuana retail shop. The male subject was referred for possession of marijuana.
