State Assembly Rep. Felzkowski Honors Hometown Hero Bill Kelly
FOR ANTIGO TIMES
Madison, WI – At the beginning of the February 12, 2019 Assembly’s session, Rep. Felzkowski (R-Irma) and Speaker Vos (R-Rochester) presented Bill Kelly with the Hometown Hero Award:
“I’m proud to have named Bill Kelly a Hometown Hero today, as I can truly think of no one more deserving who has had such a tremendous impact on our district’s charitable endeavors. Bill Kelly is a powerful presence in Langlade County, and is widely recognized across our community from his winter bell ringing for the Salvation Army.”
“As a young man, Bill answered his nation’s call and bravely served his country in Japan and the Philippines. Upon returning home, he worked hard, raised a family with his wife Beth, and eventually retired, but he wasn’t done yet. Bill has spent the better part of the last two decades transforming the Langlade County Salvation Army from a small group to an enormous volunteer organization, making Langlade County the highest donation collection county in the entire state. Bill’s work with the Salvation Army has encouraged youth in the community to turn their attention to charitable causes and has revived the spirit of giving. He is a true, devoted and charitable man and a sterling example of a Wisconsin neighbor. I am honored to have Bill Kelly as my Hometown Hero.
The Hometown Hero award is given out to individuals from around the state who devote themselves to making a difference in their communities. The State Assembly honors these men and women who make Wisconsin a great place to live.
