Posted

Geraldine Ann Mackowski (nee Minerath) passed on July 24, 2026 at Nu Roc Rehab. Born to Bernard and Theresa Minerath on October 31, 1930. As a child Geri was known as a “tom boy” enjoying running around with the boys. She married Edmund Mackowski, the love of her life, on May 6, 1950. They lived in Milwaukee and had six children. After Ed’s passing in January, 1993, Geri eventually moved to Post Lake. She enjoyed many years with her special partner Bob “Nappie” Napiontek. Geri enjoyed golfing (she had a “hole in one”), shooting pool and the casino. She played a mean hand of cribbage. She rooted for the Packers and the Brewers. Geri was thrilled that everyone celebrated her birthday – Halloween!

On her journey through life, Geri was the President of the Christian Mother’s Society, had a particular devotion to St. Jude and St. Christopher. She worked with computers at EZ Paintr Corporation. Geri had a “sassy” sense of humor and was tickled when people commented on her purple hair.

Geri wishes to be known as a loving mother to Edmund, Jr. (Susan), Geri Muszynski (Lenny Mahsem), Mark (Debra), Juliana Engel (Ray Smith), Carrie Schwonke (Tim) and Michael (Becky). She is a beloved sister to Kathleen (Gordon) Paprocki, Ben (Joan) Minerath, Joe (Diane) Minerath and Tom (Sherry) Minerath. Geri leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, with another great-great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, friend Bob, granddaughter Christina LaGalbo, grandson Alex, great grandson Ethan Morton, as well as brother Ben, sister-in-law Joan, brother-in-law Gordon and daughter-in-law Becky.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, would be greatly appreciated.
