Ice Age Trail Alliance seeks volunteers for July Trail building Events

Posted

The June event was the first of two major Ice Age Trail Crew projects planned in the Antigo area this year. The Trail Crew will return in July to continue building the Antigo Heights Segment and expand recreational opportunities in Langlade County.

Together, the two projects are expected to add nearly two miles of new Trail and additional dispersed camping opportunities along the route. Langlade County already contains more Ice Age Trail miles than nearly every other county in Wisconsin and continues to play a key role in the Trail's development.

"Having two Trail Crew projects in Antigo this year speaks to the tremendous opportunities we have to build and improve the Trail in Langlade County," said Thusius. "It's also a testament to the strong partnerships and local support that make projects like this possible."

Volunteers interested in participating can learn more and register at IceAgeTrail.org

Volunteers working in the field should bring a lunch each day. A light breakfast and hearty dinner will be provided for volunteers staying at base camp.
