The Langlade County 4-H season launch

Posted

The Langlade County 4-H Horse and Pony Project launched its 2026 season during the April meeting with a demonstration by project President Carissa Dixon on Kinesiology and Lymphatic flow, explaining how massage can positively impact horse health, addressing migraines, TMJ or alleviating negative effects of an ill-fitting saddle. Carissa is a recent graduate and a certified equine sports massage therapist. The Horse & Pony Project board members and youth are planning a season of learning clinics, open areas, horse shows and participation in the Langlade County Fair.

Enrollment into a 4-H program, like the Horse and Project is still open and youth 8 years or older can join with the following link: http://langlade.extension.wisc.edu or by calling the Langlade County 4-H office at 715-627-6236. When joining the Horse & Pony Project, you will be supported by experienced leaders and enthusiastic fellow youth members who mentor and cheer for everyone’s accomplishments.  A partial list of the upcoming events are:  Open Speed Show on June 27th at the Langlade County Fairgrounds, participation in the Antigo 4th of July parade, July 25th; speed show portion of the Langlade County Fair and July 28th – August 2nd, the Langlade County Fair.  We encourage you to join the fun of learning about horses!
