Wabeno Area Players Present Nana’s Naughty Knickers

The Wabeno Area Players present "Nana's Naughty Knickers", a light-hearted and fast-paced comedy on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 at 7:00pm and Sunday, October 4 at 2:00pm. All performances are in the Nancy Volk Auditorium in Wabeno High School, 4325 Branch Street, Wabeno, WI 54566.

Bridget is moving in with her strong and independent Nana (Linda Harter) in New York City. What sweet Bridget(Maline Enders) thinks will be a relaxing summer quickly turns into an experience, filled with surprises she will never forget.  Vera (Susan Ferguson), her Nana’s quirky, deaf and loyal friend, and Schmidt (Dennis Diny), the high-strung landlord are stirring up problems and uncovering Nana’s secrets. Meanwhile Bridget has become smitten with Tom (Josh Jameson), the rookie neighborhood beat cop. 

 The characters from the borough also include: Heather (Margy Diny), a spicy woman looking for new employment opportunities; Clare (Lori Mattern), the socialite and valued client of Nana; Tompkins (Linda Boatright), the invisible doorperson and voice on the intercom; and UPS guy (Boyd Monte), who can’t help but leer while making deliveries.

 Bottom line, is Nana headed to jail for running an illegal boutique selling handmade naughty knickers to all the senior citizens in her borough? Another question, will Bridget crumble with all the unexpected chaos?

“Nana’s Naughty Knickers” is under the direction of Carol Bartlein. Linda Boatright is the assistant director and Clare Huisman the line coach. The set is an important character of the show. It was designed and constructed by David Zuleger who was assisted by many skilled volunteers. Also highlighting the production are the creations of lingerie for senior citizens that are the products of the talented seamstress and designer, Wendy Richards.

The show is rated PG-13. The humor and themes of the show uphold the high standards of the Wabeno Area Players, but would not be understood by small children.
