Jerry Carley, 68
Jerry Carley, age 68, died at ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano on December 28, 2017.
He was born March 12, 1949 in Antigo, son of the late Gilbert and Murial (Warner) Carley. He married Georgia Berndt on April 27, 1968, and she survives.
Jerry graduated from Antigo High School. He resided in Neenah and worked at the paper mill for many years until moving to Shawano. He enjoyed his post-career employment at Qualheim’s True Value.
He was an avid sportsman, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time at his cabin with family and friends. He also liked attending the Hodag Festival, and did stock car racing for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kerri (Jamie) Piller of Rothschild; a sister, Janice Carley Schultz of Washington State; a brother, Ron (Brian) Carley of Antigo; 4 grandchildren, Heather, Kim, Morgan, and David; 7 great grandchildren; 7 sisters in law; a brother in law; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bret Carley; 2 brothers, Pat and Jack Carley; and a nephew, Matthew Carley.
A funeral service will take place at noon on Monday, January 1, 2017 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Wes Jedras officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m.-noon at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery on a later date.
