Wild Ones Northwoods Gateway Chapter Upcoming Sales and Events

Posted

Wild Ones Northwoods Gateway Chapter will be at the Antigo Farmers Market again this year on its opening day at Heinzen Pavilion on Saturday, June 6th. (8 am to 12). Members of the chapter will be there to answer questions about the native plants available for purchase for your landscapes and gardens.

This year we are partnering with Raven Hill Nursery LLC who is supplying native plant favorites along with an expanded collection of natives we haven’t offered before. We have met many of you who are seasoned native plant enthusiasts and are providing you with more choices this year!

Many thanks to Antigo Farmers Market for providing the space for us to kick off a new growing season. However if you cannot attend the market, we will be having another sale on Saturday July 11th at our Pollinator Garden on 2nd Avenue next to the walking trail and behind Johnson Electric Coil. We will be there from 8 am to 11 am.

We are also really excited to be hosting a presentation by Judy Cardin on Saturday, August 15th at the Noboken School Forest and Environmental Education Center. Judy is a bumble bee and native plant educator with the Wisconsin DNR Bumble Bee Brigrade program and administrator of WI Bumble Bee Observers FaceBook page. At 1:00 p.m. she will be discussing native bees and the critical role they play in sustaining our native habitats. The day’s events will include educational activities for the kids.

If you haven’t been to the Noboken School Forest yet, this is a wonderful opportunity to see the beautiful facility and grounds. While there we invite you to browse the native gardens that Northwoods Gateway Chapter has established over the years. We hope your seeing the native plants in garden settings will inspire you to add some natives to your own.

More details including the location of the Noboken Forest will be posted soon on our website northwoodsgateway.wildones.org and FB page Wild Ones Northwoods Gateway Chapter. Questions can be emailed to northwoodsgateway@gmail.com.
