Stallions Gallop to 3-1 Weekend Behind Explosive Offense, Dominant Inning Bursts

Posted

KRETZ PARK — The 15U Stallions put on an offensive clinic this weekend, capturing three victories in four games through a mix of timely hitting, aggressive base running, and overwhelming single-inning rallies. The team swept their double-header against Westfield 15U but split a pair of hard-fought contests with Hortonville 15U.

Saturday: Stallions Dominate Openers with Huge Rallies

The weekend opened with a firework display on Saturday as the Stallions dismantled Westfield 15U in a 17-5 rout. The game was broken wide open in the top of the fifth inning when the Stallions exploded for 10 runs.

The relentless fifth-inning barrage saw RBI singles from Dawson Hirt-Lindner, Alden Jaje, and Ryder Schnappup, alongside a Cale Behrens RBI double. Capitalizing on Westfield's walks and defensive miscues, the Stallions amassed 13 hits in total. Behrens spearheaded the attack from the eighth spot in the lineup, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Bentley Knutson secured the victory on the mound, giving up zero earned runs over four innings while striking out five.

Later that day, the Stallions outlasted Hortonville 15U in a 10-7 slugfest. After falling behind 2-0 early, the Stallions flipped the script with a five-run second inning, highlighted by an Evan Simmons RBI single.

Hortonville fought back to tie the game 5-5 by the fourth, but the Stallions answered immediately in the top of the fifth. Skylar Williams delivered the decisive blow with a two-run triple, followed by a bases-loaded walk by Behrens and an Austin Jazdzewski RBI groundout. Hirt-Lindner earned the win in relief, throwing 1.1 innings of scoreless, one-hit baseball. Shortstop Alden Jaje paced the offense, driving in three runs on a 2-for-4 afternoon.

Sunday: Westfield Swept, Hortonville Exacts Revenge

The Stallions carried their momentum into Sunday morning, handling Westfield once again in a comfortable 9-1 victory. Much like Saturday, a single massive frame determined the outcome. The Stallions manufactured six runs in the bottom of the third inning, powered by an RBI single from Hirt-Lindner and a two-run double by Skylar Williams.

Ryder Schnappup earned the win, stifling Westfield's bats by allowing just one run on five hits over three innings of work while striking out five. The Stallions wreaked havoc on the base paths throughout the contest, swiping nine total bases, led by multi-steal games from Jaje and Williams.

The weekend finale proved to be a reality check, however, as Hortonville bounced back to blank the Stallions 9-0. Despite the Stallions technically out-hitting Hortonville four to two—led by a 2-for-2 performance from Knutson.

Hortonville capitalized on early control struggles, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first without recording a hit. They added five more runs in the third inning, punctuated by a three-run double from Hortonville's Will Armstrong. Colton Roesler earned the shutout victory for Hortonville, holding the Stallions to just two hits over four innings.

The 15U Stallions walk away from their last home tournament one last time on Kretz Park together taking silver, and proving that when their bats wake up and they play with confidence, they can put up runs faster than anyone.
